Big Shopping Portals Not Always Best

online-shopping-cartTo be honest I do not get sufficient information from the review sites. They do not always break down the items I am seeking by price and they have too many time consuming pages to cover. At times when I enter the search item it is not specific enough and leads me to unwanted items. That is not to say that I do not do big brand online shopping. In fact I do just about all of my shopping via the internet by big brand online shopping.

In the past I have spent a lot of money at Amazon.com. Their website is superb and I cannot think of a negative aspect to it. If searching books, there is no comparison in the prices between Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble online. Even with the recently charged NY sales tax, Amazon. com is cheaper. Only if you pay Barnes and Noble upfront with the purchase of their discount card will the prices equalize. It is simply not worth it. Amazon. com stands by their products, give timely refunds and if you have a problem with their affiliate sellers, they will take responsibility and resolve the problem.

Walmart. com is another site I purchase from often, since there are no brick and mortar Wal-Mart’s nearby. My only complaint is that their product search is not sensitive enough and sometimes I have to enter different search words. I recommended that they change the product reviews because I believe they do not have a proper set of questions set up. Apart from these criticisms Walmart.com is fantastic to shop at. Very low shipping prices and surprisingly high quality goods for the most part. Super fast delivery goes with Walmart.com.

Even though some things are tough to size online, like gloves, I do just about all my purchasing online. That does not mean I do not leave the house. On the contrary purchasing online leaves me more time to do other things. Honorable mention goes to Famousfootwear.com. They have brick and mortar stores too. Their selection online is immense. In addition there are some motorcycle sites from which I make my purchases. These too get honorable mentions. They are Jafrum.com, Motorcyclesuperstore.com and Motodirectusa.com

Auto Insurance Shopping – The Good and Bad

So you are looking into purchasing a new or pre-owned vehicle and are now faced with buying auto insurance. Don’t worry as long as you follow these basic tips and information guidelines purchasing your insurance will be a pain-free process.

The price of your auto insurance depends on a few factors; what kind of car you are insuring, your age, marital status, and where you live. You can’t change your age and few people are willing to move or get married just to save a buck, so you are stuck with whatever price range you are set in.

Auto_Crash_TrendsA good thing to research and look into before purchasing your auto insurance is the coverage. There are several different types of coverage available including bodily injury, property damage, medical payments, collision coverage, and comprehensive coverage also known as physical damage coverage. The trick is to not pay to much for excess coverage you are not going to need while not scraping by on the bare minimum. When the time comes and you are looking at your medical bills for an accident you were in you are going to be kicking yourself in the butt for not getting that extra coverage. The same way goes if you are a safe driver you don’t need to be paying hundreds of dollars a month to cover your daily commute.

Once you become knowledgeable about the varying cheap auto insurance quotes take a look into how the vehicle you are planning to purchase will affect your premium. Everyone wants that cool looking red sports car, or that fancy black SUV, but having those types of vehicles will cost a lot more to cover than a simple four door sedan. The reason the are differing rates for differing cars is due to the statistics of how often those types of cars are involved in collisions. The average sports car driver will be much more likely to push the car and wreck it than the four door sedan owner. It is thanks to those reckless drivers that insurance premiums vary and can be a large dent in your paycheck.

Besides the car you drive who you are affects your premium. Single males under the age of twenty five are going to end up paying the highest rates because they are statistically more likely to be involved in a crash. If you do fall into that category and still want a sports car or SUV try to drive as safely as possible because the more tickets and traffic violations you receive the higher your premium will be.

Overall if you do some homework on coverage options and decide on what car you want you will be set on buying auto insurance. The trick is to buy a car that you like that is not going to give you extremely high premiums while paying for only the coverage you think you will need. If you are unsure on how much coverage you need or how much to pay for auto insurance there are many agencies across the country willing to help you.

Internet Shopping Review Sites

By Susan Shreib

I do just about all of my shopping online. It is important to be careful in the future since shipping charges have gone up quite a bit and returning items is becoming prohibitively costly. Sites that review items are used only if I suspect I might get a better price on items which everyone seems to be selling at a high price. In addition, if I am unable to locate a special item I will check review sites to see which major seller has the item.

In the realm of shoes Famousfootwear.com is a fine site from which to purchase a wide variety of shoes with fast shipping. Shoebuy.com seems to be giving them a run for their money. I was searching for a duplicate pair of sandals that I had purchased at a brick and mortar Payless store. I was able to get a pair online from Payless.com. Having two of every kind like Noah is what I often do, since many of my favorite items end up discontinued.

In clothing and general items Walmart.com is the clear winner with little competition from the likes of Target. Wal-Mart’s own brand of Faded Glory is usually of excellent quality and their pants, jeans and jackets are well worth the money. My only complaint is that the Walmart.com website is not sensitive enough when I enter a search item, but it is not a major problem. For T-shirts the website Cheapestees.com has the widest selection at fantastic prices. All this for major well-known brands like Fruit of the Loom and Gilden. Nothing much to be added about Amazon. com. It is a comprehensive site that sells most everything, with a lot of help from their affiliates.

One must be careful shopping online. Since it is only done primarily through credit cards those of you who cannot control your spending should be careful. Otherwise you will end up with a major credit card balance problem.

If I have the time, which I usually do, I will contribute a rating of the product to the site. After all these reviews are helpful to me and I am just returning the favor. Hopefully, I have shed some light on some good shopping websites.
